Kgothatso Mogape
At just six years old, Kgothatso Mogape has shown incredible resilience on his journey with Cerebral Palsy. Diagnosed with lower limb spasticity (MAS II on the Modified Ashworth Scale), Kgothatso relied on crawling as his primary means of mobility when he first came for a physiotherapy evaluation in July 2024.
To improve his movement and quality of life, Dr. Denise Potgieter performed a series of specialised surgical interventions, including:
– Bilateral adductor releases
– Bilateral hamstring lengthenings
– Botox infiltration
Following surgery, Kgothatso embarked on an intensive rehabilitation program, combining:
✔ Neurodevelopmental therapy to enhance coordination and motor skills
✔ Aquatic therapy to strengthen trunk and hip control
✔ Focused training on standing posture, balance, and gait retraining
Thanks to his determination and expert care, Kgothatso has made remarkable progress toward greater mobility and independence. His journey is an inspiration to us all, proving that with the right support, therapy, and perseverance, every child has the potential to thrive.

Chantelize Rossouw
Three-year-old Chantelize Rossouw came to us with flat feet, relying on Ankle Foot Orthoses (AFOs) for stability.
To improve her mobility and independence, she underwent surgical intervention on May 6, 2024,
performed by Dr. Denise Potgieter. The procedures included:
– Subtalar arthrodesis
– Achilles tendon lengthening in both ankles
Following surgery, Chantelize participated in a targeted rehabilitation program, focusing on:
✔ Core stability enhancement
✔ Lower limb strength development
✔ Gait retraining to improve walking mechanics
Today, Chantelize is thriving – she can walk and even dance confidently without AFOs, embracing her newfound mobility with joy.
Her success is a testament to the power of expert care, perseverance, and rehabilitation.
